In 2025, tilapia export value reached $99 million, up 141% year-over-year. Brazil has opened its market for Vietnamese tilapia through a preferential trade agreement, opening significant opportunities for the industry.
Experts forecast that tilapia could become a billion-dollar export commodity in the near future if current growth momentum is maintained.
According to VASEP, seafood exports in March 2026 reached $927M, up 5% YoY. Q1 cumulative reached $2.64B. China & Hong Kong led with $764M, up 45%.
